We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable people to join our HGF instructor team! Our team is made up of outgoing and professional go-getters who are passionate about the fitness and wellness industry. Our training program will teach you everything you need to know about the HGF method, the machine and how to lead a high-energy class that will leave clients shaking and sweating!

All Higher Ground Fitness instructors must undergo our comprehensive training program. During training our team is dedicated to the success of each trainee. Our training groups are small as well as highly selective, allowing for individualized support aiding in each instructor’s success. We are ideally looking for instructors who have previous experience instructing fitness classes but are willing to make exceptions. Attending the New Instructor Intensive IN FULL is a requirement for all trainees regardless of your fitness certification status.

Requirements

  • Builds a positive community within the studio and their own classes! This includes engaging with clients in-studio and social media.
  • Embodying the HGF brand. Encouraging a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Availability to teach a minimum of 5 classes/week
  • Attending at least TWO staff meetings and additional training opportunities per year
  • Availability to instruct sessions on at least TWO holidays per year: One Winter (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s); One Summer (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day)
  • Weekend availability preferred
  • Prior group fitness experience is a plus but not required
  • Must be reliable and professional.

Community Manager | Boston

Location: Boston Studios (Travel between locations required)

Reports to:  General Manager, Studios

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Community Manager to oversee the launch and daily operations of our new Boston based studios. This exciting role offers a fulfilling full-time career in the wellness industry with ample opportunities for growth alongside our rapidly expanding business. As Community Manager, you will lead a team of passionate fitness professionals and play a crucial role in enhancing the localized culture of studios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching Requirements: Maintain a full schedule of 12 classes per week, demonstrating flexibility and readiness to cover additional classes as required. The Community Manager is responsible for addressing any gaps in the schedule or instructor callouts, ensuring all classes are staffed.
  • Brand Ambassador:  Act as the face of the brand in the community, embodying and promoting the studio’s values and mission through all interactions.
  • Leadership:  Establish high expectations for both new and existing instructors, by demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism and performance.
  • Community Engagement:  Cultivate and strengthen community ties by leading locally crafted experiences, studio challenges, and workshops to foster loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Memberships and Sales:  Responsible for attracting new clients, converting class packs to memberships, executing seasonal promotions, and reporting accurate sales data.
  • Local Partnerships:  Establish and maintain partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to enhance our community presence and generate cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Instructor Training and Feedback:  Support the training of new instructors, providing both informal and formal feedback to enhance teaching quality.
  • Client Relations:  Oversee all studio communication channels, including phone, email, and text, ensuring timely and professional interactions, demonstrating the level of customer service.
  • Retail and Product Expertise:  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all studio retail operations, including class packages, current promotions, and merchandise.
  • Talent Recruitment:  Drive the recruitment of new talent, creating a pipeline of talent that that aligns with the studio’s strategic goals and culture.
  • Operational Excellence:  Responsible for inventory analysis and restocking of all studio supplies, accessories, and season decor.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure studios maintain high standards of cleanliness and proper functioning of all equipment at all times.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties and projects as needed to support the studio’s objectives.

Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in coaching or group fitness instruction.
  • Preferred experience in community management, event management, or related roles within the fitness, wellness, or hospitality industries.
  • Ability to work a nontraditional schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and rotating holidays, demonstrating high adaptability and flexibility to meet varying business needs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse member base.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in conflict resolution, time management, and the ability to unify a team.
  • Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and the ability to execute initiatives that enhance community engagement.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media strategy, and Microsoft Office.

Training Talent Manager

Location: Milton, MA (Travel across all locations required)

Role Overview:

As the Talent Manager, you will play a crucial role in attracting, training, and retaining exceptional instructors. You will continuously seek out top talent, develop a compelling employment brand, and foster positive relationships with candidates and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition: Lead efforts in talent acquisition, working closely with our General Manager and Head Trainers to ensure a seamless recruitment process.
  • Training s Development: Facilitate complete training cycles, including pre-training administrative work, training itself, and post-training assessments.
  • Trend Integration: Identify and incorporate trends within the fitness and wellness world into the Higher Ground Fitness culture.
  • Scheduling Coordination: Coordinate training schedules for new instructors as they transition onto the schedule.
  • Performance Management: Conduct instructor assessments, ensuring HGF brand standards are being upheld. Identify top-performing talent, offering additional training to further develop their skills. Create action plans for under-performing staff, spotting reoccurring trends that may be impacting performance across locations.
  • Training Curriculum: Manage all aspects of training for HGF, including the development of new material, updates to existing guides, and enhancements to the online platform. This should be executed with diligence, creativity, and follow-thru.
  • Teaching Commitment: Maintain a teaching schedule of 300 classes/year.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a fitness leadership position, with preferred experience developing and delivering training curriculum in a group fitness or similar industry (hospitality/restaurant).
  • Certified Personal Training Certification from an accredited program or institutional knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology preferred.
  • Flexible availability, including work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Advanced time management skills and the ability to manage performance across the team.
  • Reliable and Professional.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Willingness to travel across locations as needed.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
